Recently, we had to put our sweet 12 year old cock-a-poo Toby down. This was such a sad moment in our life. My daughter is only six and a half months so she doesn’t have an understanding yet of losing a pet or someone in our lives. I would love to hear what you have done to help your child or children understand when it comes to losing a pet? We have one more dog Tasha who is nearing 14 years old and like any other life we don’t know how much longer we have with her. If my daughter is older how do we deal with it?

Our dog Romeo ran away when my son was about 7 months old. He did miss him, and did seem to understand that there was a member of the family missing, but he just kind of managed on his own and eventually went back to his normal happy self!
